Last month when planning our Calendar of $aving$, I asked Bo if we can do "Happy Hour" all day on St. Patrick's Day. He said for sure, it will be fun.
I wasn't sure just how fun it was going to be - being that we are a pizzeria and not serving up Corned Beef & Cabbage or any of the traditional Irish fare. Therefore, I decided to hook up some nice flyers and start telling people about our March 17th special.
Low and behold, I'm not bragging but I think everyone in Golden, CO came to our pizzeria at some point today for Green Draft Beer & Happy Hour prices. We were so busy today, I thought for sure I would need to hire more help. Personally, I must have made 100 salads today. I'm so lettuced out that if I don't see lettuce for a day or two, I won't miss it!
Also, Bo & I and "the crew" had a blast with all of our St. Patty's Day gear Coors brought us. We had a ton of necklaces to hand out, glow sticks, blinking thingies, stickers, buttons, you name it, they brought it for the crew to wear and for us to give to the customers. It was a little weird giving little kids the blinking Coors Light & Miller Light stuff but they loved it, and their parents were happy because the kids were occupied.
The best part of the day was when I went to Walgreens and bought some Green hair spray color. All of us colored our hair green. The guys had green faux-hawks and side burns. $5.99 sure went a long way on this crazy bunch. I will post the pictures tomorrow.
Over the years, I celebrated St. Patrick's Day in New York City and Chicago with their huge parades and green river, and honestly, being at work in my little family pizzeria and hanging out with my "crew" and having a grand ole time & seeing all the people who came out to celebrate with us & running around like crazy to get orders out, let me just say, this was one of, if not, the BEST St. Patrick's Day I've ever had.
Thank you. Thank you very much.
